Abstract:

During the previous RAN4#75 meeting it has been agreed that RAN1 and RAN2 WGs should discuss how to introduce the specification changes needed to support rank 3 and rank 4 for TM3 and TM4, considering UE categories 6 and higher. However, the work in the RAN1 and RAN2 groups is pending plenary decision on the release which is going to support such change. In this contribution we present the background of this problem and provide the necessary information such that the plenary is deciding with no delay how to proceed on this issue.
